  1. The term back pain is regarded as aches in 
  2. the region of the spine. Low back pain can
  3. be caused by a very wide range of medical 
  4. conditions. About half of all episodes of 
  5. back pain will resolve within a week, but 
  6. severe back pain can be chronic and 
  7. disabling. Treatment methods include rest,
  8. analgesics, physiotherapy, osteopathy, and
  9. exercises. Back pain is responsible for the
  10. loss of approximately 11.5 million working 
  11. days each year in Britain alone.
